After 4 years, we finally do not have a crib set up in ANY room of the house. AMAZING! And to think that for about a 6 month period, we had two cribs:) We bought Weston a big bed this weekend and started him in it on Sunday at naptime. He has yet to actually take a nap with his new foud freedom, but that's fine because he's totally content just exploring his room. Jake went through this as well and it just takes a little bit for them to realize all the stuff will be there when they wake up! Night has been gonig pretty well. This was the second night and he went down quicker than the first, so I guess that's progress-right?!?!? Here's a few snapsots.

Weston is 2 and Paul is Hitched:)
Two big events for us this past month-Weston runed 2 and my brother got married.
We had a party for Wes with about 8 toddlers and 20 adults. It went amazingly well and I didn't regret for one second getting a Target cake versus spending a whole day on it like I did for Jake's. Following my new mantra of "picking my battles"! Luckily, the weather held off while the party was going on and the kids were able to play in the water most of the time.
The very next weekend was Paul and Ann's wedding. Dave and I left the boys in Winona for an adult only night in Madison. Again, the weather could not have been more perfect and everything was amazing-so excited for them.

Easter Is Not For Wimps
We had the plan all mapped out. Leave St. Michael Friday at noon, spend the night in Winona, head to Racine on Saturday morning. Have a nice and relaxing visit and head home on Monday. Here's what happened: spent the day on Friday in urgent care with Weston because he threw up 12 times in 4 hours. Decided he seemed better on Saturday morning and decided to do the entire drive to Racine. Weston was not all better and we got to clean up puke in the car a few times. By Saturday night I was sick. By Sunday Dave was sick. When we left on Monday Weston was sick all over again, along with my Mom and Ann. Somehow we managed to get through it, Jake never got sick and we even got some pictures to prove we still had a good time. Easter is not for wimps. Side note: Dave is not in any pictures because Sunday was his day for hugging to porcealin.

Livin The Life
Who wouldn't want to be pulled all the way home from the park by their big brother?? These are the things that seriously make my heart melt and remind me how truly blessed I am (and not just because they don't rely on me to lug them around anymore:) Nothing more sweet than two brothers getting along and their Daddy getting to be home with them to capture it all!

Three With Two
On Saturday, we had some friends over and oh yea-that included 7 toddlers! It was actually super fun and I cannot believe we're at a point where we can tell the kids to go play in the playroom. I knew that thing would come in handy sooner or later! Pam and Alayna left a little earlier than Kara and Heather and then we realized that we were the three crazy people that have 2 kids a piece. How did we seriously get here! The best part was ending the day with an awesome dinner in St. Paul (no kids involved) and then heading to a friend's birthday party. Here's some pictures from the fun.

7 And 3
For the people who know our family, you know that in the last 4 weeks, we have celebrated my birthday, Dave's birthday and Christmas. Today we add to that list our wedding anniversary and Jake's birthday. So nice that Weston is a summer baby and gives us a break from this time of year!
7 years ago today, Dave and I tied the knot. Yup-we had a winter wedding and I would not have changed anything for the world (okay-maybe our trolley coming 1 hour late could be upgraded a bit...). I honestly cannot believe that it's been 7 years! People say that your wedding day flies by, but I can remember almost all of the details like they were yesterday. Favorite part: when we were getting ready at the church and Dave sent me a beautiful vase of roses and the card said he was the luckiest guy on earth that day. (besides drinking, eating, dancing and oh yea-getting married). As far as how we're celebrating today-we decided that starting this year, we will be celebrating on the day we got engaged (April 15th) every year in hopes that things will be a bit calmer in the month of April and then we don't have to split the day with Jake! Regardless-here's to 7 amazing years and a lifetime more.
The second celebration of the day-Jake is 3!!!! Where has the time gone. As much as I can remember our wedding-I have tried to blur out the 30+ hours of labor 3 years ago:) In the end-I must admit that we got one of the most perfect babies around. Who has a baby that has NEVER woken up more than once a night!!! Trust me when I say-it doesn't happen twice (Weston!!!!) It has been soooo fun watching him grow and soak up everything is his little sponge of a brain. We are continually amazed at how much he knows, is learning, and observes. The other night he was talking for quite a bit before falling asleep so I went down and asked him what was going on. He proceeded to sing me two of his "favorite songs" about a firetruck and a candy cane. When I asked him to sing them-he clearly had just made them up. But seriously-it seems like not long ago we were trying to get him to say mama and dada and now he's making up songs-unbelievable. Santa brought him a big bike with training wheels and it's been hard to keep him off that lately. In general-I would say he's a pretty typical 3 year old: loves/hates his brother, loves/hates his parents, always loves Dakota, can be super sweet and cuddly and naughtier that you can imagine the next minute, eats things one day and hates them the next, is potty trained 95% of the time, still loves being read to, coloring and play doh, and is one of the best things Dave and I have ever done!!!
We have Jake's 3 year appt this week so I'll update later with his stats, but until then-happy anniversary to us and happy birthday Jake!
